Developers Robot Gentleman have finally managed to bring its post-apocalyptic, darkly comedic atomic adventures to Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4. That’s right, both 60 Seconds! Reatomized and its spiritual successor 60 Parsecs! are here to test your ability to scavenge, make tough choices, and even survive the Nuclear Winter.
Starting with 60 Seconds! Reatomized, which is the remastered version of the original 60 Seconds!, we join Dolores, Ted, Mary Jane and Timmy. There’s only 60 seconds until the next nuke lands, leading to a mad rush around the house to find family members and gather vital supplies. You can’t take everything, nor everyone, to the fallout shelter; there’s just not enough time, hence you must choose wisely and swiftly. Whatever you end up grabbing and whoever you save will, ultimately, play a vital role in your potential survival. Each attempted survival will be different too, with every day surprising you with unexpected events. It’s up to you to ration food and water, make best use of your supplies, face difficult decisions and even venture into the wasteland if necessary.
And then there’s 60 Parsecs!, blasting you out into space and giving you another testing dilemma to deal with. Your space station is going to explode in a mere 60 seconds – sensing a pattern yet? – and in the remaining time you must dash around to gather supplies as well as crewmates, before heading to the emergency shuttle to escape. From that point onwards, it’s about leading a crew of woefully unprepared astronauts, equipped with whatever bits and bobs you grabbed. Prepare to make the best of it, while dealing with regular shortages and whatever horrors there may be in outer space. Will you have what it takes to find a new home and survive?
Should you fancy your chances at surviving in either adventure, the Xbox Store will see you right for a purchase. 60 Seconds! Reatomized and 60 Parsecs! are priced at £8.39 each, while a slightly cheaper option is the 60 Parseconds! Bundle for £14.99. Feel free to check out our full review of both games before making up your mind up though – 60 Seconds! Reatomized Review and 60 Parsecs! Review.
