It’s pretty safe to say that Watch Dogs: Legion has had a bit of a rocky time. Whilst obviously nowhere near as fractured as CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, when Watch Dogs: Legion was pushed out to console and PC at the back end of 2020, it didn’t all go as planned. But credit to Ubisoft for continuing to allow the game to evolve and with the arrival of the new Online Mode, Legion may well find a place in the hearts of many.

Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Google Stadia – all at no additional cost – the online mode for Legion will give players the chance to take in the open-world with others, teaming up with up to four players as they go about exploring London town. New city events will keep them busy, as will challenges and the odd side activity or 100.

There will also be new cooperative missions available for two-to-four players to enjoy, with new gameplay mechanics in place and the opportunity for all to create the perfect team capable of handling the threats of the world.

You can also throw in the new Spiderbot Arena, a PvP mode that will see four spiderbot armed players compete in some high intensity deathmatch action.

But single player Watch Dogs owners are suitably well catered for too, as two exclusive single-player missions for Season Pass owners are also available today:

  • Guardian Protocol: DedSec will track down an algorithm that shows that AI can sometimes override human decision. If this algorithm was to be used in weaponized drones… they would have power over life and death.
  • Not In Our Name: DedSec discovers a secret group using their name in London, working under the orders of a ruthless tabloid owner, who uses information stolen by this group to blackmail his notorious victims and gain power in the city.

Unfortunately, none of these goodies will yet be available on PC, either through the Epic Games Store or the Ubisoft Store, but they will be coming later. As will the “Leader of the Pack,” the first four-player co-op Tactical Op which will require teamwork and efficiency will be available. This will be rolling out on March 23rd. More content will continue being added after launch through free updates, including Invasion PvP mode, all-new co-op missions, free characters and more.

If you haven’t yet picked up Watch Dogs: Legion then we advice you give our full review of the game on Xbox a little read. If you’re then sold, get over to the Xbox Store – or other format stores – to grab a download. London won’t be liberated without you – or your friends!
